Frequently asked questions
Is NobodyChat really anonymous?
Yes. People who message you never see your identity, and you never see theirs. To stop abuse, we keep a scrambled one-way code for 30 days that can't be turned back into your IP address.
Do I need an email or phone number?
No. You choose a nickname and a username, and we generate a secure password for you. We don't collect any personal details.
Can people share phone numbers or social media?
No. ContactGuard blocks phone numbers, emails, links and social handles in many languages. Friends who have chatted for a while can unlock contact sharing if they both want to.
What happens if I lose my password?
Your account can't be recovered, because there's no email or phone on file. Copy your password or take a screenshot when you sign up. If you're still logged in somewhere, you can make a new password in Settings.
How long are messages kept?
Private chat messages are deleted after 30 days. Inbox messages stay until you delete them or delete your account.
Who can use NobodyChat?
Adults aged 18 and over, anywhere in the world, on any phone or browser.
Is NobodyChat free?
Yes. Optional credits let friends unlock extra features like contact sharing.
